Spankin New Book Review of Killing Lions by John and Sam Eldredge
With a title like Killing Lions it better be an epic book, and thankfully the combo of John and Sam Eldredge do not disappoint. Simply put, this book is about everything that is so easy to struggle with as a young guy like myself. The overall message of this book is simple: men are different then boys. Men must think differently, act differently, sacrifice differently, love differently, be discipled differently. Sounds common sense right? The problem is my generation is filled with boys who can shave rather then men who can love, lead, and sacrifice well. This is the call of this phenomenal book.
Tackling topics like dating, doubting, career choices, and killing lions this book will hit home for any male who desires to grow to be a man.
This book reads as a dialogue between father and son sitting around a campfire swapping stories and life lessons. It is immediately apparent that this book is not a simple telling of theories but an authentic discussion of real issues of real faith and life. This read was funny, attention-grabbing, and thoughtful. Perhaps most importantly, this book is firmly rooted in Scripture and the wisdom found within.
So if you are a young man this one of the clearest books you need to order up!
