Love Wins, God Wins

Rumination. What a funny word. It means to break down. It is a word that is used for cows when they chew up the cud swallow it, bring it back up, chew on it, swallow it, bring it back up, chew on it, swallow it, and repeat the process until all the nutrients have been taken out of them. It’s not the cutest visual from our black and white friends, but it is an important one, because that is how I am supposed to work with the awesome truth of the Bible. The Bible gets a bum wrap, and it’s mainly because it is misunderstood and poorly used by its believers. But that is a conversation for another day. But I am going to chew the nutrients out of today’s key verse. Let’s do this.

Interesting breakdown of Romans 8:38-39 Which says, “For I have every confidence that nothing- not death, life, heavenly messengers, dark spirits, the present, the future, spiritual powers, height, depth, nor any created thing- can come between us and the love of God revealed in the Anointed, Jesus our Lord.”

So according to Paul this is the list of things that cannot separate me from the Love of God:

Death- because if I die I will be with Him

Life- because as long as I live on this earth I am sealed by His love

Heavenly messengers- because the best of the Spiritual Realm cannot even break that bond of love

Dark Spirits- because even the enemy in the Spiritual Realm cannot begin to cut a hole in that bond

Present- because no matter what I or anyone else does to me in this moment, I am His

Future- because no matter what I or anyone else does to me in time to come, I cannot gain or lose any more of His love.

Spiritual Powers- because SERIOUSLY nothing in the Spiritual Realm can begin to cut away at that bond.

Height- because even Everest cannot stop God’s love from reaching me

Depth- because even if I am at the bottom of Monterey bay where light cannot reach, His light will reach me.

Any Created Thing- because everything but God is created, which means the only one who could separate it will never.

I cannot do enough bad or good to ever move my position in His love; I am His because of Jesus’ love. End of story. Love Wins.
