Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit...

Thomas Jefferson wrote in the American Declaration of Independence: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Those are not words to be glossed over but they do give an intrinsic truth about each of us. We are all created by God, which means that no one is without excuse of not having any opportunity in life.

What we do with that opportunity is the deciding factor.

In Proverbs it is written, “Rich and poor have something in common: both are created by the Eternal.”[1]

Whether I am born rich or poor is irrelevant, because I am created by God.

The fact that I have breath in my lungs means that I was given an opportunity.

It is not the responsibility of the government, my family, the church, or the university to provide for me a detailed plan of how to make the most of that opportunity. It is mine.

People often call God unfair, unloving, unjust, and a bunch of other crap about to His character, but He proves His character by simply allowing us to breath today, even though we rebel against Him.

God owes us nothing more than what we have received.

But… we owe ourselves to make the most of the opportunity that we have today. So if you are unhappy with your life, and have never went after your dream, stop making excuses and go after it! Live life and have an adventure.

When we go for our God given dreams there is a chance we might fail, and that is okay! There has never been a good adventure that did not involve risk.

Make the most of life, because all men are created equal so that we would not have an excuse.
