Why My Mom Inspired Me to be Awesome
Thank you Laura Jean Conner, my awesome Mom! To all you other Mom's out there: Happy Mother's Day. You guys are amazing, and without you... well us guys literally wouldn't be here.
My Mom is awesome! Not because she is perfect but because she has always been there for me, and taught me so much about life and who I want to be.
I don't remember one time where her first reaction was ever for herself.
When I was a kid, she would come home from a long day just to find out that we had to drive in to the arts and crafts store to buy a California Mission model kit that we had to put together... that night (procrastination has always been a gift I possessed), and then stayed up late with me gluing, painting, and hoping for it to all stay together on the ride into school the next morning, no easy task.
She always put me and my brother first, I guess because she is a superhero and my inspiration to be selfless. Complete sacrifice for the sake of love, and I want to live in such a way as well.
So what is your mom like? I bet she is not "perfect" but no mom is! But whether she is still around or not, whether your mom is the person who gave birth to you or was your third grade teacher... I would encourage you to focus on ONE characteristic right now to be grateful for, and not just because it is Mother's Day, but because everyday is a chance to be grateful, and show it!
Think of her, and if she is around still call her and let her know! (It also doesn't hurt to wash her car)
P.S. Sorry for not having a pic of us on here... I live half a country away and she has all our pics in a "special spot" (lost).
